# Mining Solutions: OTR Tyres, Dust, Grinding Balls

Mining Solutions offers three things for mines: recycling of used OTR tyres by pyrolysis, dust control for mine roads and other areas, and grinding balls for ore processing plants.

Three things often cause trouble at mines: worn-out giant tyres, dust on haul roads, and the cost of grinding ore. Mining Solutions covers all three.

**OTR tyre recycling.** We process the very large tyres of mine trucks (OTR, off-the-road) by pyrolysis, which means heating the tyres without oxygen. The results are pyrolysis oil, carbon black and steel wire.

**Dust control.** We can supply dust suppressant for haul roads, access roads, underground mines and tailings areas.

**Grinding balls.** We supply Hi-Cr and forged steel grinding balls for ball mills in ore processing plants.

## Services

- **OTR Tyre Recycling (Pyrolysis)**: Used OTR tyres are processed by pyrolysis (heating the tyres without oxygen) into pyrolysis oil, carbon black and steel wire. Steel wire and carbon black are sold to third parties. The pyrolysis oil can be used as fuel; its quality is tested together with the customer and we do not claim it meets the diesel standard. The cooperation model can be tailored, for example Kemindo builds and operates the facility, and the owner of the used tyres buys the oil back at a special price.
- **Dust Control**: We can supply dust suppressant for haul roads, access roads, underground mines and tailings areas. A dust suppressant binds the surface particles. According to the product supplier, this can reduce the need for water spraying and road grading; results differ at each site.
