Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- President Joko Widodo implemented restrictions on community activities or emergency ppkm in Java and Bali.

"I decided to do emergency PPKM from July 3rd to July 20th, 2021 specifically for Java and Bali," Jokowi said, thursday (July 01, 2021)

In the official documents received CNNIndonesia.com there are a number of rules that will be enforced during the implementation of emergency ppkm.

100 Percent WFH

During ppkm emergency, all office activities are done at home or 100 percent work from home (WFH).

Even so, the government still provides leeway for workers in the essential sector. They are allowed to apply 50 percent of work from the office. The scope of these essential sectors are finance and banking, capital markets, payment systems, information and communication technology, non-quarantine handling of Covid-19 hospitality, and export orientation industries.

Not only that, for the critical sector is allowed 100 percent work from the office while still implementing strict health protocols.

These critical sectors include energy, health, security, logistics and transportation, food, beverage and support industries, petrochemicals, cement, national vital objects, disaster management, national strategic projects, construction, basic utilities (such as electricity and water), and the industry of meeting the basic needs of everyday people.

During the implementation of emergency PPKM, all teaching and learning activities in schools are conducted online or by distance learning method (PJJ).

Restricted Market

During PPKM Darurat, stores selling daily necessities such as supermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores, and supermarkets are limited to 20:00 local time with a 50 percent visitor capacity.

Meanwhile, pharmacy and drugstore operations are still allowed to open stores for 24 hours.

Mall Closed

Under the new rules, malls, shopping malls and trade centers are required to close. Not only that, the implementation of eating and drinking activities in public places both in food stalls, restaurants, cafes, street vendors to hawker stalls are not allowed to open meals on the premises.

Construction Activities In Operation

The implementation of construction activities, from construction sites and project sites remain 100 percent operational by implementing health protocols more strictly.

Places of Worship Closed

Places of worship, both mosques, prayers, churches, temples, monasteries and temples and other public places that function as places of worship are temporarily closed.

Not only that, all public facilities in the form of public areas, public parks, public attractions and other public areas are temporarily closed.

Social Activities Closed

Arts and cultural, sports and social activities both art locations, culture, sports facilities, and social activities that can cause crowds and crowds to be temporarily closed.

Public Transport Restricted

Public transportation, both public transportation, mass transportation, taxis both conventional and online to rental vehicles are enforced with a maximum capacity setting of 70 percent by applying health protocols more strictly.

Wedding Reception Restricted

The wedding reception was attended by a maximum of 30 people by applying stricter health protocols and not implementing meals at the reception. Food provision is only allowed in enclosed areas and for take-away.


Domestic travelers using long-distance transportation modes of both aircraft, bus and train must present a minimum vaccine card dose I and PCR H-2 for aircraft as well as Antigen (H-1) for other modes of long-distance transportation.

Mandatory Use of Masks

Masks are still worn when carrying out activities outside the home. People are not allowed to use face shields without the use of masks.

The government's decision to implement this emergency micro PPKM is based on data showing the spike in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is getting out of control.

Most recently, the addition of daily cases again broke the record by increasing 21,807 cases in a day on Wednesday (30/6). With the addition of those cases, the cumulative number of positive cases reached 2,178,272 cases.
